The workshop is in conjunction with the Open Call programme organised by Poetry Festival Singapore.

Participants are welcomed to submit their poems to the Open Call. Details below.

Payment made before 20 October 2020 will be delivered a copy of Catharsis 2018 Chapbook to their stated address on Peatix by the end of October.

This Chapbook showcases 17 poems written in English, based on the theme of Catharsis. Each poem comes with their individual folded sheet. You can customise the page of the Chapbook by writing your own version of 'Catharsis'. The poems were selected as part of an Open Call in 2018, from over 90 entries. Selected poets were also chosen to perform in Poetry Festival Singapore 2018.

About the facilitator

Elijah Chai is a recognised writer on EzineArticles whose work can be accessed on numerous sites. Besides having e-published 3 books on Amazon.com, his works appear in various anthologies and publications. He holds an MBA and is currently a Lead Manager in MOE HQ. He was formerly a principal of a private school, Discipline Master in a mainstream school and had the privilege of teaching 9 subjects in his teaching career.


About the Open Call

What does catharsis mean to you? If you have a poem inspired by and written on the theme 'Catharsis', you can send it to us and be part of our Catharsis poetry open call! We want to see your works!

The writers of the best submissions will perform their works in August 2021. Venue to be confirmed.
Selected entries may be chosen for publication.

Requirements:
- Only English language poems are acceptable at this point
- Between minimum 8 to maximum 40 lines
- Open to all living in Singapore
